Purpose

This guide describes how to install the Practice Protect platform browser extension in Microsoft Edge, allowing you to access your portal and launch applications.

  1. Click here to install the extension from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. You will be redirected automatically.
  2. Click Get.

Note: If the Get button is greyed out, your browser is managed by your organization’s IT administrator. Please contact your IT team for assistance with installing the extension.
  1. Choose Add Extension.

  1. A notification will appear confirming that the extension has been installed.

  2. On the top-right corner of your browser, click the Extensions (puzzle piece) icon, then click the Pin icon next to the extension to pin it to the toolbar.

  3. In the top-right corner of your browser, click the pinned extension icon, then click Sign In. You will be redirected to the Practice Protect sign-in page.

  4. Log in using your Practice Protect account credentials.

  5. Once you’re signed in, the browser extension will begin syncing with the Practice Protect platform. When the pop-up appears, click Sign In to complete the synchronization.

  6. Next, disable the browser password prompts. Click the extension icon, select the Settings (gear) icon, then turn on Disable Browser Password Prompts.

  7. If you’re prompted to grant additional permissions to the browser extension, click Allow.

  8. The Browser Password Prompts setting is now disabled. This prevents your browser from displaying its built-in password save and autofill prompts, helping avoid conflicts with Practice Protect and ensuring a more consistent and secure sign-in experience.

  9. From the Access Space, launch the application by clicking its icon. The browser extension will automatically populate your username and password, then sign you in. If no credentials have been saved for the application yet, you’ll be prompted to save them during your first sign-in. Once saved, future sign-ins will be completed automatically.
