Disable Browser Password Saving via Browser Settings

Purpose

This article explains how to disable browsers from remembering credentials via the browser settings. This can be manually adjusted when necessary.

Instruction

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Gear icon and Internet Options
  2. Go to the Content Tab.
  3. Under “AutoComplete” click Settings.
  4. Untick “Usernames and Passwords on Forms” and click Ok.
  5. Click on Ok to save and exit.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click the 3 dots then Settings.
  2. Search “Password” then click on the Key Icon “Passwords”.
  3. Turn “Offer to save passwords” and “Auto Sign-in” off. From Blue to Grey.
  4. Done.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and click on the 3 bars then Options.
  2. Click on Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to “Logins & Passwords” then untick “Ask to save logins and passwords for websites”
  4. Done.
