Purpose
This guide explains how to temporarily lock a user account in the Practice Protect Portal. Locking a user account prevents the user from signing in to Practice Protect and accessing any applications secured through the platform. This is useful when you need to temporarily restrict access, such as during employee leave, account suspension, or other situations where the account should remain available without being permanently deleted or losing its associated data.
Note: This feature only applies to Cloud Directory User Accounts in Practice Protect.
Instructions
- Log in to Practice Protect using an account with Administrator access.
- In the top-left corner, click the 9-dot menu (App Launcher). Select Manage Space from the menu.

- From the left-hand menu, navigate to Inventory > Identities > Users.

- Locate the user account you want to lock, then click the user’s username to open the account details.

- Under Account Status, tick the Locked checkbox.

- Click Save in the bottom-right corner to apply the changes.
The user account is now locked and can no longer access Practice Protect or any applications secured through the platform. To unlock the account, simply clear the Locked checkbox and click Save.
