Temporarily Disabling MFA

Purpose

If Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is preventing a user from signing in to Practice Protect, you can use the MFA Unlock option in the Practice Protect Admin (Manage Space) to temporarily bypass MFA for 15 minutes, allowing the user to sign in.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your  Practice Protect.
  2. From the Access space, click the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen, then select Manage Space.

  3. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Inventory to expand the available options, then select Identity > Users.

  4. Select the user you wish to unlock by ticking the checkbox beside their name An MFA Unlock option will then appear in the top-right corner of the page.
  5. Click MFA Unlock

  6. When prompted to confirm, click Yes.

  7. A notification will appear confirming that the MFA unlock was successful, displaying the message: “Completed MFA unlock on user.”

  8. The user can now sign in to Practice Protect using their username and password without completing MFA for the next 15 minutes. After the 15-minute period expires, MFA will automatically be required again for subsequent sign-ins.
