Sign in with a QR Code (Passwordless Authentication)

Purpose

This guide shows how to utilize QR code based authentication to the platform, to use this feature your Password Admin must enable this setting in the backend of the admin portal.

Password Admin can use this article to setup QR code based authentication to the platform.

Instructions

1. Staff will have to download and install the dedicated app for Practice Protect.
   1. Install Mobile App on iOS
   2. Install Mobile App on Android
2. Once the app is installed, test it by opening your Practice Protect login page in a web browser. Ensure you have your Practice Protect login URL and the QR code ID displayed on the login page.
   
3. Open the Idira Identity mobile app.
4. Tap the Menu icon in the top-left corner, or swipe from left to right to open the navigation menu.
5. Then select QR Code Authenticator. You may be prompted to enter your PIN to verify your identity before proceeding.
6. Scan the QR code displayed on the login page using the mobile app.

7. Once the QR code has been scanned successfully, a confirmation message will appear indicating that authentication was successful.

   

8. Return to your browser. Your session will be authenticated automatically, and you will be redirected to the Platform Access Space (formerly the User Portal).
