Purpose
This article provides instructions on how to download, install, and sign in to your work email account using the Microsoft Outlook mobile app on both iOS and Android devices.
Prerequisites

You have a valid work email address

Your organization allows your work email account to be used on mobile devices (i.e., it is not blocked by policy).

Device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
-
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled if required by your company policy.
Instructions
- Download the Outlook app for iOS directly from the App Store.

After installation, open Outlook app on your mobile phone.

Tap on Add Account.

Outlook may automatically detect an existing email account. If the detected account isn’t correct, select Skip and continue with the steps below. Otherwise, click Add Account to proceed.

- Enter your work email address, then tap Add Account.

- Select Microsoft 365 as your email provider.
Note: When adding your work email to the Outlook mobile app, choose Microsoft 365 as the account type as Microsoft 365 is for work emails, Outlook.com is for personal accounts (e.g., Hotmail, Outlook.com), and Exchange only is for on-premise servers. -
You’ll be redirected to the appropriate sign-in page based on your account setup:

Microsoft Sign-in: Your username will be auto-filled. Enter your Microsoft password to continue.

Practice Protect (if account is Email Integrated or Federated): You’ll be redirected to the Practice Protect login page. Sign in using your Practice Protect password.

If prompted, complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to verify your identity.

If you’re signing in with Microsoft, approve the sign-in using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

If you’re signing in through Practice Protect, complete the MFA process within Practice Protect.

If prompted, allow permissions for notifications, calendar, and contacts access.

Once setup is complete, your inbox and calendar will begin to sync automatically.

- Download and install the Outlook app for Android directly from the Google Play Store.

- After installation, open Outlook app on your mobile phone.
- On the welcome page, tap on Add Account.

- Outlook may automatically detect an existing email account. If the detected account isn’t correct, select Skip and continue with the steps below. Otherwise, click Add Account to proceed.

- Enter your work email address and tap on Continue.

- Choose Microsoft 365 as the account type.

Note: When adding your work email to the Outlook mobile app, choose Microsoft 365 as the account type as Microsoft 365 is for work emails, Outlook.com is for personal accounts (e.g., Hotmail, Outlook.com), and Exchange only is for on-premise servers. -

- If you’re prompted to add another account, select Maybe Later.
If you wish to add one, click Add and follow the same steps as above.

Your account is now added. Tap Got it to skip the informational form.

- Your inbox and calendar will begin to sync automatically.

Open the Outlook app
-
Tap your profile icon in the top left corner.

Tap the Settings (gear icon) on the bottom left.

Tap on Accounts under General.

- Select the account you wish to remove.

Scroll down and tap Remove Account.

Tap Remove to confirm.

Close the Outlook first then re-open before adding another account.
